All of the wood I will be using as the frame of the custom cabinets will all be ¾ of an inch thickness. The next step is to join up put a straight edge on it and bring it up to the table saw to start cutting pieces of the custom cabinets. Now that I have all of my rough stock milled to the sizes we need for our custom cabinets the next step is to run it through the drum set. Because the planner can leave some marks on the boards of the custom cabinets when it comes through we run it through the drum sander so we know it’s perfectly smooth perfectly flat for the next step in building the custom cabinets. What I am doing right now for the custom cabinets is since we ran the material through the drum sander we can really see what the boards are starting to look like. One of the things we do here at Custom Cabinets Katy is very careful grain selection and color matching so what I’m doing right now is sorting these pieces I have out because I want every single frame to have all of the pieces that all match to the rest of the custom cabinets. It doesn’t look very nice if faced range of doors have different colored pieces so I’m just taking about ten minutes to sort out my wood so I can properly match the colors when it’s time to put together the custom cabinets.
